Caminero: ‘Diego Costa staying’

Atletico Madrid director of football Jose Luis Caminero has insisted that striker Diego Costa will remain with the club.

The Brazilian was the subject of a recent €25m bid from Liverpool as the Anfield club seek alternatives should Luis Suarez quit the club, but in an interview with Mundo Deportivo former Atleti midfielder Caminero made it clear the 24-year-old was going nowhere.

Djukic has faith in Ebert

Miroslav Djukic has offered his backing to Patrick Ebert to put recent controversy aside and commit to Real Valladolid until at least the summer.

The German was caught meeting with Atletico Madrid sporting director Jose Luiz Perez Caminero last week, much to the ire of his club.

However, his Coach has offered his support, stating his belief in the midfielder’s professionalism.

Patrick Ebert faced up to a barrage of questions on his future after Real Valladolid’s condemnation of his meeting with Atletico Madrid’s sporting director.

Marca caught the German attacking midfielder in a meeting with Atleti’s Jose Luiz Perez Caminero last week, prompting Valladolid’s angry reaction yesterday.

Valladolid take Ebert-Atletico action

Real Valladolid have confirmed today that they are taking legal advice on how to proceed over Patrick Ebert’s meeting with Atletico Madrid last week.

The attacking midfielder was caught by Marca last Wednesday having lunch with Atleti sporting director Jose Luiz Perez Caminero.

Speculation is that Atletico, who have previously been linked with making a move for the 26-year-old, were discussing a possible deal for the summer. Ebert has an €8m buyout clause.

Valladolid unaware of Ebert meeting

Real Valladolid were reportedly unaware midfielder Patrick Ebert was meeting with Atletico Madrid sporting director Jose Luis Caminero this week.

Marca pictured the German attacker meeting with Caminero on Wednesday, suggesting that it was the latest development in Atleti’s reported interest in picking up the 26-year-old.

Reportedly asked for comment on the situation, Valladolid have remained silent, understood to have been uninformed of Ebert’s meeting with Caminero.

Ebert talking with Atletico

Atletico Madrid’s sporting director Jose Luiz Perez Caminero has been pictured having lunch with Real Valladolid attacker Patrick Ebert.

Ebert has impressed this term for Valladolid since a free transfer last summer after being released by Hertha Berlin.

Previously linked with Atletico, the attacking midfielder has already been reported as having been scouted more than once by Caminero.

Atletico ponder Dzeko and Suarez

Atletico Madrid are thinking over moves for Edin Dzeko and Luis Suarez if Radamel Falcao decides to leave the Vicente Calderon.

According to AS, Los Colchoneros are planning on still having the Colombian hitman around for next season but it may decide on a number of factors, not least of which is if Diego Simeone’s men qualify for the Champions League.

There is also the worry for Atleti that one of Europe’s richest clubs may come in and agree to pay the release clause in the player’s contract, as happened with Sergio Aguero.
