Major relief for Barcelona as key duo expected to be fit for Napoli clash following injury scares

Barcelona may have secured a slender victory over Mallorca on Friday night, but they came away from the match with uneasiness as more injuries problems looked to had struck them down. Raphinha’s was the most worrying, as he suffered a kick to the Achilles during the penalty incident in the first half.

The Brazilian, who started the match as an interior due to Xavi Hernandez’s lack of midfield options, was forced off soon after the penalty, which was missed by Ilkay Gundogan. With the Champions League showdown against Napoli just three days, there was serious concern that he would be unavailable.

Xavi was confident of Raphinha being fine, and it looks like that is indeed the case. Diario AS have reported that it should only be a slight sprain at most, meaning that he is expected to be fit and ready to face the reigning Italian champions next week.

Further to this, the report notes that Lamine Yamal should also be fine, after the 16-year-old matchwinner suffered a strong blow to his ankle in the final stages of the match against Mallorca. Barcelona will also be able to count of Ferran Torres after injury, so Xavi is beginning to get some of his key options back.
