Barcelona include 7 teenagers in squad to face Real Madrid nearing full health

Barcelona and Real Madrid have released their squads for the second leg of their semi-final clash in the Copa del Rey, with vastly differing fortunes.

The Blaugrana do not have Frenkie de Jong at their disposal, in addition to the absences of Ousmane Dembele, Andreas Christensen and Pedri.

It means Xavi is relying on a number of young players to fill out his squad. While Alejandro Balde, Gavi and Pablo Torre are already part of the first team, Xavi Hernandez has called on 7 teenagers in total. Marc Casado, Estanis Pedrola, Aleix Garrido and Angel Alarcon have a handful of appearances between them, although they may be called upon, with Torre set to be the only natural midfielder on the bench.

Meanwhile Antonio Rudiger and Mariano Diaz have recovered from their muscle strains to make the squad. The only player missing from Carlo Ancelotti’s side is Ferland Mendy, meaning one of David Alaba, Nacho Fernandez or Eduardo Camavinga is likely to start at left-back.
