‘Sevilla hungry for trophies’

Adil Rami sees a ‘hungry’ Sevilla ahead of the Europa League semi-final second leg with Shakhtar Donetsk.

The tie is level at 2-2 from the first leg in Ukraine, giving Sevilla an advantage if away goals come into play, but Rami told a pre-match Press conference that the team is working hard regardless.

Sevila forgive Rami after Betis dig

Unai Emery says Sevilla have accepted Adil Rami’s pre-Betis apology after the defender claimed Sunday’s derby was “a preseason game”.

Rami’s attempt to stoke the fires before kick-off at the Sanchez Pizjuan backfired as his Instagram post that he did not consider Betis to be Sevilla’s rivals was quickly deleted, but Emery was happy to report water under the bridge between the defender and his employers.

“We have to win, the three points are very important,” the Coach said at a Press conference.

‘Sevilla still have to fight for Final’

Adil Rami understands why onlookers consider Sevilla to already be in the Copa del Rey Final but insists the team ‘still has to fight.’

Sevilla dispatched Celta Vigo 4-0 in the first leg at Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan and, barring an extraordinary comeback at Balaidos, will meet Barcelona, 7-0 winners over Valencia, in the showpiece.

“You have the right to talk about the Final, but we just think about playing the semi-final,” Estadio Deportivo quotes Rami as telling Sevilla’s official website.

‘Sevilla CL exit a big disappointment’

Sevilla players Adil Rami and Ever Banega were in agreement over the team’s Champions League exit. ‘It’s a big disappointment.’

Defeat to Borussia Monchengladbach in Germany means Los Rojiblancos are unable to finish any higher than third in Group D and even that may be difficult as Gladbach pulled away with the win.

“It’s a big disappointment. We have to congratulate Borussia, a very tough team, but we have to work more to get the win,” Rami said, Marca reports.

“We know they’re one of the best teams in the world, with the best attack in Europe at the moment,” Rami said, AS reports.

Rami pays for Valencia exit

Adil Rami has paid €500,000 of his own money to help complete a move to Milan from Valencia.

Milan chief executive Adriano Galliani told SportItalia that while the transfer hasn’t been wrapped up yet, it’s essentially a matter of time, with the centre-back taking a pay cut as well.

“The player will be at Milanello with the rest of the squad tomorrow,” Galliani said.

“We don’t have the signature yet, as the President is busy, but the agreement is very close to completion.”
