Kylian Mbappe is currently going through one of his toughest moments as a professional footballer. His start to life as a Real Madrid player has been massively underwhelming, and that reached new heights after he missed a crucial penalty in Wednesday’s Champions League defeat against Liverpool.

While Mbappe has received a string of scathing assessments from across the footballing world, he continues to be backed from within. Following in the footsteps of Carlo Ancelotti, Real Madrid teammate Dani Ceballos also gave his support to the French attacker, as per MD.

“We know what Kylian is working on. He’s not scoring as many goals as he would like, but it’s difficult to get to a club like Real Madrid, which comes from winning everything. It’s also difficult to settle in the first months, but Kylian is going to give us a lot.”

Luka Modric also spoke glowingly of Mbappe, who has amassed nine goals in 18 appearances since joining Real Madrid in the summer.

“We see him well, training well and with confidence. Today it didn’t come off, especially the penalty, but we have confidence in him and I’m sure Kylian is going to do what is expected of him.”
