Atletico Madrid striker Samu Omorodion may still exit despite Chelsea collapse – destination mentioned

Atletico Madrid forward Samu Omorodion had packed his bags and arrived in London to complete a move to Chelsea on Sunday night, but the deal appears to have collapsed at the last minute. However Omorodion might keep his bags by the door.

A €45m move to Stamford Bridge had been agreed, but the deal has fallen apart, with some reporting that the medical had been failed, others saying financial details got in the way, and some suggesting that Chelsea simply wanted Joao Felix instead. The Blues are now in talks for the Portuguese forward.

Fabrizio Romano has reported that Samu Omorodion is still likely to leave Atletico in the coming days though. In recent days he also noted that Bayer Leverkusen had enquired about his availability as Chelsea were negotiating terms.

Prior to the Omorodion deal breaking down, it was reported that his move was essential for Los Colchoneros to get deals over the line for Conor Gallagher and Julian Alvarez from Chelsea and Manchester City respectively. That idea has been dismissed by various sources, but it may be that Atletico make a good chunk of the money they are spending back if they can offload Felix and sell Omorodion, although previously it had been briefed that they wanted to hang onto him.
