Barcelona and Inigo Martinez have been linked together for some time, with rumours of the Catalan interest in him beginning last summer. As his contract draws to an end, they are still confident of getting hteir man.
MD say that Martinez has other clubs trying to tempt him elsewhere though. Atletico Madrid’s interest in Martinez has already been reported on, but now it has emerged that the likes of Napoli and Inter have made offers to the 31-year-old.
However Martinez has already made up his mind – he wants to join Barcelona this summer. Terms have already been agreed on a contract, and all that remains is for Barcelona to resolve their salary limit issues.
That it is no small issue though. The competition will no doubt play on the uncertainty at Barcelona, and the longer the Blaugrana go without giving Martinez guarantees, the better they will feel their chances of changing his mind.
