The two stars Real Madrid must renew after new Luka Modric contract

Real Madrid have reportedly agreed a one-year contract extension with midfield star Luka Modric but Marca report the club now must work on the renewals of two more first-team stars.

Real Madrid news recently has seen the team record six successive victories in all competitions, but three out-of-contract stars – including Modric – have been key in that run.

Club captain Sergio Ramos and utility player Lucas Vazquez have both been heavily involved for Los Blancos and played pivotal roles in the resurgence in form.

With Ramos out of contract in the Spanish capital next summer and celebrating his 35th birthday in March, the club must act swiftly on his future.

The talismanic central defender has scored 100 goals in 663 appearances for Madrid and he has won 22 trophies for the club including five La Liga titles – including last season’s trophy – and four Champions League crowns.

Vazquez is out of contract in the Spanish capital in 2021 and despite becoming a peripheral figure in recent seasons, he has now become a key member of the starting line-up – firstly impressing in the right-back role following an injury crisis in the position before being preferred in an attacking three over the likes of Vinicius Junior, Marco Asensio and Isco.
