Rodrygo frustrated with playing time under Sampaoli

Brazilian teenager Rodrygo has spoken out about his frustration of playing for Santos under the management of Jorge Sampaoli.

The 18 year-old, who has agreed a €45m deal to join Real Madrid in June 2019, has seen his playing time reduced since the arrival of the former Sevilla boss in December 2018.

Sampaoli is known for his pragmatic methods, but and Rodrygo understands his manager's position, despite his frustration.

"I do understand Sampaoli, and of course I always want to play.

"But, because I am leaving, maybe he is thinking of the team for the rest of the year.

"But until I leave, I will continue to be a headache for him – as I want to play."

The Brazilian side have requested that Rodrygo remains on loan at the club until 2020, in order to complete the 2019 domestic season, however Real Madrid are unlikely to change the terms of the original deal.
