Real Madrid’s Sergio Ramos on Antonio Conte reports: ‘Respect is earned, not imposed’

Sergio Ramos has seemingly sent a warning to Antonio Conte, who will reportedly take charge of Real Madrid. “Respect is earned, not imposed.”

“It’s a very bad situation for the whole dressing room,” said the defender after Los Blancos’ 5-1 defeat to Barcelona in the Clasico.

“Today was an important match and the result condemned us. We’re with the Coach to death. Decisions are made from above.

“Now we have to wait. Nothing’s been said yet. We have to reflect and have a cool head. We must respect the decisions that are made from above.

“It’s good to be united. They’re away from us as far as points are concerned and we have to turn the page.

“It’s not the time to point fingers at anyone. We gave away 45 minutes. There are many things to reflect on.

“I’ve won Leagues when I’ve been 10 points behind. We must hold our heads high and work hard.

“I’ve always had a good relationship with all my Coaches. It’s better to stay out of these situations because they’re delicate.

“Respect is earned, not imposed. There are Coaches with whom we’ve won titles. A Coach’s ability to manage the dressing room is more important than their knowledge.”
