Real Madrid boss Julen Lopetegui asks ‘why can’t Karim Benzema end up with 30 or 40 goals’ after his brace against Leganes.
“We decided to play Courtois, but we have some excellent solutions,” said the Coach after Los Merengues’ 4-1 win on Saturday.
“Keylor’s ours, he had a great game at Girona and he’s the best in UEFA’s eyes. We’ll see what happens, the decision will be seen on the pitch, although we have an idea of what we’ll do.
“I haven’t said there’s a roadmap. He knew that he was going to play this game, and I won’t say any more than that. We have three great goalkeepers and we’ll try to find the best solutions.
“We played well. There was confusion because they equalised and we were in a hurry, but we had a great second half.
"I haven’t converted anyone, Benzema is a great player and always has been. The credit is his, he’s delighted, he’s helping the team and that’s how he’ll keep going.
“Why can’t he be Pichichi? Why can’t he end up with 30 or 40 goals? The most important thing is the team.
“The goals come from the work of the whole team and someone has the honour, proximity and quality of scoring them.”
