Sevilla’s Escudero dislocated elbow

Sevilla wing-back Sergio Escudero is set to miss six weeks of action after suffering a dislocated elbow against Villarreal, say reports in Spain.

Escudero’s nasty injury soured the encounter, after landing awkwardly on his left arm following an aerial challenge with Dani Raba.

Video footage showed the 28-year-old’s arm twisting in a strange angle which appeared to confirm a serious injury, while tests have now confirmed this was due to a dislocated shoulder.

However, Diario AS reports that inflammation around the arm means that a fracture can not be ruled out, which may lead to a longer absence.

Escudero – who is now the club’s longest serving player – will sit out Sunday’s Seville derby against Real Betis.
