Salah: Ramos claims ‘funny’

Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah has branded Sergio Ramos’ claim that he grabbed the defender’s arm first ‘funny’.

Ramos recently hit back at accusations he deliberately injured Salah during Real Madrid’s 3-1 win against Liverpool in the Champions League Final, suggesting the Egyptian made the first contact.

Responding to the Spaniard, he told Marca: “I’m better now. I hope to play the first game [of the World Cup] against Uruguay, but that will depend on how I feel when it approaches.

“Leaving the Final the worst moment of my career? Yes, it was. When I fell to the ground, I had a mixture of physical pain and worry, as well as anger and sadness for not being able to continue playing in the Champions League Final.

“Moments later, I also thought about the possibility of missing the World Cup, and that was devastating.

“Injury just a case of bad luck? I don’t know, maybe? Ramos’ claim that I pulled his arm first? It’s funny…

“I’ll say that it’s always okay when the one who made you cry first then makes you laugh. Maybe he could also tell me if I’m going to be ready for the World Cup?

“He sent me a message, but I never told him I was ‘okay’.”
