Ramos: Firmino cold because of my sweat…

Sergio Ramos has hit back at critics following the Champions League final and is “waiting for Firmino to say he had a cold because my sweat landed on him.”

The Real Madrid captain was involved in the incident which saw Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah go off injured while he was also criticised for an incident with goalkeeper Loris Karius.

“Bloody hell, they've given this a lot of attention, the Salah issue,” Ramos is cited as saying by Diario AS.

“I did not want to comment on this because when you do, everything gets blown up under scrutiny but now I will.

“I saw the play developing, then he grabbed my arm and I fell to the other side, and the injury happened to the other arm but they say I had him in a judo hold.

“The goalkeeper then explains that I concussed him with a clash, now I am only waiting for Firmino to say he had a cold because my sweat landed on him.

“I have since spoken with Salah by messaging, and he is good. He could have played on with an injection, which is what I have done before.

“Sometimes when Ramos does something, it will attract criticism, maybe because when you have been at Madrid for so long and have won so much, people look at you in this way.”
