Santos deny Barca move for Rodrygo

Santos have denied talks with Barcelona over the transfer of teenage sensation Rodrygo, who they state is not for sale.

Diario Sport had reported that Barca had opened negotiations for the 17-year-old regarding a move, but the Brazilian club have moved to rule out an exit.

The attack-minded player has impressed in a string of performances in the Copa Libertadores this season, leading to speculation he could move to the Camp Nou.

“He is not for sale,” José Carlos Peres is cited as saying by Globoesporte.

“He would miss the path to mature in Brazilian football, and that would take at least two years, while there is no conversation.

“He has two years remaining on his contract and a €50m clause.”

Barca have concluded other business from Brazilian clubs in recent months with moves for defender Yerry Mina from Palmeiras and Gremio midfielder Arthur.
