Pezzella an alternative for Inter

Inter are considering Real Betis defender German Pezzella as a ‘low cost’ alternative for strengthening their backline, say reports.

Estadio Deportivo cites a report in Gazzetta dello Sport that the Nerazzurri are considering a move for the Argentine, who also holds an Italian passport.

However, Los Verdiblancos have no intentions of selling the defender and rejected an €8m approach from Bundesliga side Hamburg earlier in the window, reportedly holding out for a minimum of €12m.

The 26-year-old has featured 66 times for the Seville-based club since joining from River Plate two seasons ago as he has become a leading member of the club’s defence under several managers.

Inter are said to be in the market for a new defender as they are locked in negotiations to sell Jeison Murillo to Valencia.
