Madrid target 2018 Donnarumma deal

Real Madrid are confident of landing Milan goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma in 2018 and are willing to stick with Keylor Navas until then, say reports in Spain.

According to Cadena Cope, Los Blancos are confident of securing a deal for the teenage Italian sensation next summer which suggests they will discontinue their pursuit of Manchester United’s David De Gea.

Donnarruma’s contract at the San Siro expires in June 2018 and a €4m per year renewal is yet to be concluded, leaving the door open to a move.

The form of Costa Rican Keylor Navas has improved drastically at the Bernabeu in the run-in which saw Madrid secure both La Liga and Champions League titles.

Reporter Alvaro von Richetti is confident the teenager will replace Navas as the club’s number one but not until after next year’s World Cup.
