Neymar ‘affected’ by court ordeal

Barcelona forward Neymar has admitted that he is “a little affected” by the ongoing controversy relating to his transfer from Santos in 2013.

The Brazilian will give evidence at the Spanish High Court on Tuesday in response to a complaint from DIS – the investment fund who previously owned 40 percent of the player’s economic rights – that they are owed money by La Blaugrana, and he confessed the saga was taking its toll on his family.

“When the issue begins to affect your family, it affects you a little and you begin to worry,” he told O Globo.

“However, God has given me the gift to be focused on what I enjoy doing the most, which is playing football.

“I’m only focused on what I have to do. My dad just wants me to devote myself to football, so that’s what I’m focused on.

“When you see people you love being attacked, suffering and being accused of things which aren’t true, like my family, it hurts.

"Before you can speak without knowledge and tell lies, you have to present evidence.”
