Arrigo Sacchi has hailed Carlo Ancelotti's impact at Real Madrid since taking charge last year. "He's the best Coach for them."
The Italian guided Los Blancos to the Copa del Rey and an unprecedented 10th European Cup in his first season at the club, while they are now five wins away from setting a world-record run of victories.
Consequently, the legendary trainer – who served as Madrid's sporting director in 2004-05 – was unequivocal in his praise of the Coach and backed his compatriot to improve further.
"Ancelotti is doing a great job and can do even better. Wherever he goes, good things happen," Sacchi told Onda Cero.
"He has a capacity to handle football and people like no-one else. He's a good and intelligent man.
"There are great Coaches, but Carlo differs from them because Madrid have improved, despite them changing players.
"They must improve defensively in some phases because all 11 players now have to defend.
"Madrid may still get better, but their head is in the right place. When you start thinking everything is easy, that's when you start losing.
"Three teams have overseen the evolution of football – Ajax, Milan and Barcelona. I hope Madrid become the fourth.
"Ancelotti could be a doctor of psychology. He's the best Coach for Real Madrid."
