Luis Garcia: We lacked intensity

Luis Garcia maintained his Getafe side lacked intensity during the opening day
2-0 defeat to Real Sociedad at Anoeta.

“We need to take a forward step so that we can show more intensity,” the former Levante boss told reporters, whilst acknowledging the Basques had ran out worthy winners in what was a fairly comfortable 90 minutes for Jagoba Arrasate’s men.

However, Garcia downplayed the significance of the loss and recalled that last season Getafe started badly and ended up close to qualifying for Europe, while at the same time ruing a Diego Castro miss that could have got his side back into the game.

“Castro could have equalised when he faced a one-on-one with [Claudio] Bravo, but he  missed and they went to get their second goal,” lamented Garcia.
