Liverpool have announced via their official website that a deal in principle has been struck for Celta Vigo striker Iago Aspas.
The 25-year-old had been expected to pen a four-year deal with the Reds earlier this week after undergoing a medical but, as his brother and agent Jonathan explained , the delay was down to paperwork.
Aspas managed 12 goals in 34 La Liga games in the 2012-13 campaign despite playing in a side that was threatened with relegation until the final day of the season.
The Galicia-born player can operate through the middle or out wide and is set to become the Anfield club’s second signing of the summer following Kolo Toure’s switch from Manchester City.
