Sevilla turn to Beto

Sevilla’s search for a new goalkeeper has taken them to Braga’s experienced shot-stopper Beto.

The Andalucians have been in search of a second senior goalkeeper to sit alongside Andres Palop after selling Diego Lopez to Real Madrid on Friday.

Los Nervionenses are believed to have found a replacement in the form of 30-year-old Portuguese international Beto.

The much-travelled ‘keeper only moved to Braga in the summer and had featured as their first choice in all competitions, but became available for transfer after the club signed another first-choice goalkeeper this month.

Subsequently Sevilla have come in and are believed to have already concluded negotiations for an initial loan deal, with an optional purchase clause inserted until the summer.

Official confirmation of the move is pending, but Beto’s deal is seen as likely to be concluded today.
