Dos Santos set for Mallorca bow

Giovani dos Santos is set to make his long-awaited Real Mallorca debut against Sevilla at the Sanchez Pizjuan next week.

The Mexican, signed from Tottenham Hotspur this summer, picked up a thigh injury while representing his country at the London Olympics and has been sidelined ever since.

Mallorca have been careful not to push the 23-year-old into coming back too soon as they already have an injury list that includes Javi Marquez, Nunes, Joao Victor and Antonio Lopez.

However, Dos Santos has been working with rest of the players this week and, according to El Desmarque, was seen in deep conversation with boss Joaquin Caparros at the club’s San Biblioni training headquarters, prompting speculation of a return to action at Sevilla.

Ironically, the Andalusians had been chasing the player for the best part of the last 18 months but were unable to agree a fee with Spurs for his transfer.
