Bale frustrated by transfer delay

Gareth Bale is described as frustrated by delays in completing a possible world record move from Tottenham to Real Madrid.

The Welshman has seen negotiations for a potential world record move from the Premier League club out to Madrid stall in recent days, amid reports that Spurs have other offers for the player to consider.

It is also suggested that chairman Daniel Levy has been angered by Madrid’s position in apparently changing their offer from €100m in four instalments down to €90m across one or two payments, and Los Blancos already selling ‘Bale 11’ shirts on their website and preparing last week for his presentation before anything was official.

Another theory suggests that Levy is keen to stall the move until after the North London derby, so as to prevent rivals Arsenal from signing Angel di Maria and/or Mesut Ozil from Madrid – two players rumoured as possibly on their way out to help fund Bale’s deal.

The delay reportedly has Bale frustrated, with outlets in England describing him even as ‘furious’ at how the situation has evolved.

The player failed to report for training at the London club on Tuesday, instead meeting with his agent Jonathan Barnett.
