Gareth Bale has failed to attend training at Tottenham on Tuesday as otherwise expected, as Real Madrid continue to wait on a potential deal.
The Welshman has returned to the UK after a weekend break in Marbella in the south of Spain, amid reports in England that Real Madrid’s proposed world record move for the 24-year-old is facing competition from other clubs.
Whilst Andre Villas-Boas indicated his provisional belief that Bale would be back with the London club on Tuesday to begin recovery work on a foot injury, reports are that the winger has not turned up.
