Rakitic: Door open for Neymar

Ivan Rakitic admits he would “open the door” for Neymar to re-join Barcelona, amidst reports that he is set for crisis talks with Paris Saint-Germain.

Telefoot reported on Sunday that PSG President Nasser Al-Khelaifi would travel to Brazil to meet Neymar, not only to monitor his recovery from an ankle injury but also discuss his future, with the Brazilian said to be regretting his decision to leave Barca last summer.

“If it was up to me, I’d open Camp Nou’s doors to him right now. He’d always be in my XI,” the midfielder said after the Catalans’ 2-0 win at Malaga.

AS adds representatives of Real Madrid have already held talks with the 26-year-old’s camp in Paris before the two sides played out their Champions League last-16 tie, which Los Blancos won 5-2 on aggregate.

Furthermore, the attacker is described as “the main objective” for Madrid chief Florentino Perez when the transfer window reopens this summer.

Neymar is contracted to the French giants until 2022 and has a market value of €400m, almost double the figure PSG paid Barca, according to the newspaper.
