Barcelona have decided that they will indeed sign a goalkeeper to compensate for Marc-Andre ter Stegen’s injury. It does not look as if they will wait until January to do so.
The Blaugrana have been linked with the likes of Guillaume Restes and Alvaro Valles, but would have to wait until January to do so. However they can bring in a goalkeeper who is without a team in the next four weeks due to the emergency injury rule in La Liga, and have permission to use 80% of Marc-Andre ter Stegen’s salary to do so.

According to Cadena Cope, Barcelona have already decided to bring in a goalkeeper immediately, and have already initiated talks with several free agent goalkeepers. The likes of Keylor Navas and Claudio Bravo have been strongly linked to the club in recent hours, and the Chilean has already offered himself to come out of retirement. The likes of Wojciech Szczesny, Edgar Badia and Jordi Masip have also been cited as possible options.
Barcelona manager Hansi Flick gave his backing to current number two Inaki Pena, who will be the one to step up in the immediate situation, and will start against Getafe on Wednesday. The Blaugrana will be hoping Pena can operate more successfully than last season, although he did save Barcelona in multiple crucial games against Porto and Atletico Madrid last season.
