During the summer, it was confirmed that Atletico Madrid and Memphis Depay would be ending their relationship one year early. A mutual contract termination was agreed between the two parties, allowing the Dutch striker free rein to choose his next club.
Almost three months after it revealed that Depay would be leaving Atleti, he is still a free agent. Most recently, he had been talks with Sevilla, who wanted him as a replacement for the recently-departed Lucas Ocampos. However, a return to La Liga now seems highly improbable.
As reported by Ge Globo, and confirmed by Fabrizio Romano, Depay has reached an agreement in principle to join Brazilian giants Corinthians. If everything is finalised, he would sign on until 2026.

Aside from his first season at Barcelona, it’s safe to say that Depay’s time in Spain was not successful. He will now continue his career in Brazil, all being well.
