Manchester United may be forced into selling one of their brighter young talents this summer, after failing to agree a new deal with Willy Kambwala. The 19-yeasr-old central defender has turned down their latest offer.
The French-Congolese defender made 10 appearances for Manchester United last season, largely consisting of cameos, but was impressive towards the end of the season against Liverpool. He has a year left on his contract, and Christopher Michel has reported that he is eyeing a move this summer.
News #MUFC: Homegrown player Willy #Kambwala has rejected an offer to extend his contract, which runs until 2025. There are inquiries from the MLS, France, Bundesliga and Spain. He probably prefers LaLiga.

There is interest in the teenager from France, Germany and Spain, and Michel’s information is that Kambwala would rather a move to Spain over the others. Kambwala came from French side Sochaux originally, United paying €4m for him in 2020.

It is yet to emerge exactly where that interest is coming from, although if he is leaving United, presumably it would be one of Spain’s premier clubs, as it is unlikely that others would be able to afford him. Any club that wants to sign him will still have to negotiate a fee with United, and there is no suggestion they have given up on retaining him.
