Liverpool showing strong interest in Valencia star and Euro 2024 hero Giorgi Mamardashvili

Giorgi Mamardashvili has been the talk of Euro 2024 over the last few days, following a string of very impressive performances for Georgia, which helped them qualify for the knockout stages for the Germany-based competition. Valencia will be proud of their player, although they will also be aware of interest growing in his services.

Newcastle United made a move for Mamardashvili before Euro 2024 kicked off, and while their interest has tailed off, another team’s has increased: Liverpool. According to Radio MARCA, they consider the 23-year-old to be an ideal replacement for Alisson Becker, who is wanted by teams in Saudi Arabia.

Liverpool are said to be at the head of the queue for Mamardashvili. Valencia are open to selling, and their asking price is set at €40m – a more than affordable price for one of the best goalkeepers in Europe.

It remains to be seen whether Valencia do lose Mamardashvili this summer. They are relaxed about the situation for now, although it is inevitable that movement will ramp up after Euro 2024 concludes.
