Greenwood was voted as Getafe’s player of the season following an impressive loan in the Spanish capital in the 2023/24 campaign.

His sole season in Madrid yielded eight La Liga goals and six assists and Getafe are open to keeping him next season.

However, despite both Getafe and Greenwood being open to the deal, United are pushing for a transfer fee in the region of €50m.

Getafe can only afford another loan deal and interest has since emerged from other La Liga sides and European clubs over a possible deal.

As per the latest update from The Independent, United ae considering all options available to them in the coming weeks, including extending Greenwood’s contract beyond its current expiry in 2025.

As it stands, United are entering into a situation where they would potentially not receive a transfer fee, if Greenwood enters into the final 12 months of contract.
