Raul Gonzalez confirms he is considering Real Madrid exit – “Thinking about new challenges…”

Real Madrid already have one legend leaving in the summer- that being Toni Kroos – and another could follow him out of the exit door. It’s not a current player, but a coach – Raul Gonzalez.

The iconic number 7 has been head coach of Real Madrid Castilla for the last five seasons, but in recent weeks, there has been plenty of speculation that his tenure will come to an end in the summer, amid links with numerous professional clubs.

When discussing his future, Raul admitted that he could end up walking away from Real Madrid in the summer, as per Marca.

“I really enjoy the day-to-day with the boys, helping them, seeing them and saying hello to them when they are with the first team. For me, the day-to-day life here fulfils me. It’s clear that thinking about new challenges is there. There have been conversations, calls… But I have to decide and feel that. When is that going to come? Well, I don’t know. To this day, I don’t know.”

It remains to be seen whether Real Madrid are in need of a new manager for their B team, although surely no one at the club would begrudge Raul looking for a new challenge in the summer.
