Release clause revealed for 20-year-old Bundesliga forward linked with Barcelona and Arsenal

RB Leipzig and Slovenia forward Benjamin Sesko has been tipped to be one of the best forwards in Europe for some time, but the season he is putting together currently could end up earning him a move. The 20-year-old will not be cheap, but based on the market, will not look expensive to the top sides either.

That might not be the case for Barcelona, whose financial struggles are well-known, and are unlikely to be making a major investment in a forward this summer, but they too have been tracking Sesko in recent months. One of many, including AC Milan, Chelsea and Arsenal, who will have been watching on as he caused Real Madrid problems in the Champions League.

The Daily Mirror have reported that Sesko has a €50m release clause, which could make him an appealing prospect, especially for Premier League sides. In particular, Chelsea and Arsenal have been linked with a move for a forward in the summer.

His arrival in Spanish football looks unlikely. Real Madrid are set to have a fearsome stable of forwards for next season as it is, while Barcelona just spent €30m plus €31m in variables on Vitor Roque, who is seen as the mid-term replacement for Robert Lewandowski. Atletico Madrid are perhaps the only other side that could move for him financially, but whether they would want to spend that much on a player still growing remains to be seen.
