Real Madrid dealt more bad injury news as player’s recovery process slower than expected

It’s not been a good week for Real Madrid in terms of injury news, and it’s only two days old. Following the news that Thibaut Courtois suffered a torn meniscus during training on Tuesday, which will all but end his season before it has even started, Los Blancos have now been handed bad news with another long-term absentee: David Alaba.

Alaba has been out of action since tearing his ACL in December, and he certainly won’t play again. His return date had been pencilled in for the start of next season, but that now looks to be in doubt.

According to Miguel Angel Diaz, Alaba’s recovery process is going slower than expected. In an effort to get things moving in the right direction again, he has returned home to Austria.

It’s rotten luck for Alaba, although at least some good news for Real Madrid is that Eder Militao is on track to make his return from injury after the international break.
