Sevilla player calls out Real Madrid for “damaging the image of Spanish football”

On Thursday, it was confirmed that an investigation has been opened by the Spanish Football Federation’s Disciplinary Committee into the actions of Real Madrid, specifically in relation to their use of referee scrutiny videos published through their official television channel, Real Madrid TV.

Sevilla reported Real Madrid to the RFEF over the matter late last month, and although their original complaint was rejected, their latest request has been accepted, meaning that a case has been opened with immediate effect. La Liga are also expected to join the case against Los Blancos.

Sevilla defender Adria Pedrosa was asked by Radio Marca (via Estadio Deportivo) for his thoughts on the matter, and he backed up his club’s stance.

“Honestly, I’m not one to focus on these things, I can’t change anything and I focus on my own thing. These things damage the image of Spanish football. The referees’ job is not easy and you have to leave them and give them confidence, because they are not always to blame for what happens. The rules are there to be complied with and sometimes we give too much hype to some things.”

Despite these revelations, the expectation is that Real Madrid will continue producing these videos, especially after the events of last weekend’s controversial draw with Valencia at the Mestalla.

  1. I honestly think Referees’ mistakes are too much these days and the RFFF and the rest of the football bodies should look into it. You can not accept that your appointed referees are making life changing mistakes and be punishing the footballers’ for same.
And for Sevilla and their players, they should turn the table around if such mistakes would not have put put them in difficult position.
    Thanks
