Real Madrid starlet to go against manager Carlo Ancelotti’s wishes

Real Madrid starlet Arda Guler has full belief in his ability, and intends to fly in the face of his club regarding his future. The 18-year-old playmaker joined from Fenerbahce last summer for €25m, but has barely had a look-in yet, playing just 92 minutes.

Last week it was revealed to Football España that Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti is of the opinion that Guler should head out on loan in order to continue his development next season, believing that regular minutes are a requisite for his growth. That, coupled with the competition already there, and the reinforcements arriving this summer in the form of Kylian Mbappe and Endrick Felipe, will further force him down the pecking order, and the club are of the same view as the Italian.

However TF have revealed from sources close to the player that Guler intends to remain at Real Madrid next season and fight for his place, and he has informed the club of that intention.

This comes amid a series of links towards the exit door on loan, and certainly it seems that the club feel he could do with an intermediate step between Fenerbahce and the first team at the Santiago Bernabeu. Even in Istanbul, he was not starting every game, and while Ancelotti will not be there forever, defying the Italian is not a wise strategy.
