WATCH: Rodrygo ends 11-game scoring drought by grabbing opening goal against Braga

Real Madrid are aiming to make it three wins from three in this season’s Champions League group stages, and they are on course to do so after taking an early lead on MD3 against Portuguese side Braga.

Carlo Ancelotti made four changes from the side that started against Sevilla on Saturday, but one of those who – perhaps surprisingly – kept his place was Rodrygo, who once again failed to find the back of the net against the Andalusians.

That extended his scoreless run to 11 matches, but fortunately for the Brazilian, he has now ended that streak by scoring the opening goal against Braga, stabbing home from close range after excellent play from Vinicius Junior on the left.

The last two months have been very difficult for Rodrygo, but that goal will feel like a huge weight has been lifted off his shoulders. Real Madrid will hope that the floodgates will now open in terms of more goals.
