For the first time in almost 20 years, neither Lionel Messi nor Sergio Busquets will be playing for Barcelona next season, with both having agreed to sign for MLS side Inter Miami.
Messi recently turned down the chance to return to the club he left two years ago in favour of the move stateside, while Busquets departed Barcelona at the end of the 2022-23 season in favour of a new challenge.
Busquets’ move to Inter Miami was announced on Friday, while Messi’s is expected to go through soon, almost it is very much expected to be no problem.
According to MD, the club have pencilled in the date in which they will unveil Messi and Busquets as new players: the 16th of July, which is the date of their match against St Louis City in the MLS.

There is a great excitement among MLS fans to see the two football greats heading over, although Barcelona will certainly be very disappointed that neither will be at the club next season.
