Villarreal’s excellent 3-2 victory over Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu on Saturday evening has been overshadowed by an alleged incident that occurred post-match between Federico Valverde and Alex Baena.
Valverde allegedly punched Baena in the Bernabeu’s parking area over alleged comments that the Villarreal youngster made during the teams’ meeting in the Copa del Rey in January, which related to the Uruguayan’s then-unborn baby, according to Marca.
Valverde’s partner had a miscarriage scare, but thankfully everything turned out okay. The player’s entourage alleged to Marca that Baena said “cry now that your son is not going to be born” after fouling him during the Copa match. Another incident between the pair is said to have ignited Valverde’s fury, which led to the incident in question.
Baena has since responded to the allegations, which he strenuously denied in a post on Twitter.

Neither Real Madrid nor Valverde have officially commented on the situation as of yet, but should Baena look to take things further, this could drag on for a while.
