Fabrizio Romano confirms Villarreal’s Arnaut Danjuma Premier League destination

Arnaut Danjuma has been set for a move away from Villarreal for much of this month, having fallen out of favour under head coach Quique Setien.

Having joined from AFC Bournemouth in the summer of 2021, the Dutchman had a good first season at the Yellow Submarine. However, he has struggled this season and seen his playing time reduced, meaning that he has been allowed to leave in January.

A return to the Premier League has been the most likely, with a number of English clubs rumoured to be interested. It seemed that Everton would be his next club, with Danjuma having having undergone medical tests at the Merseyside club over the weekend.

Now, it appears that Tottenham Hotspur have stolen him at the 11th hour. Fabrizio Romano reports that Danjuma will undergo tests at the North London club on Tuesday ahead of a loan deal until the end of the season.

There had been reports that Everton would have an option to buy Danjuma in their loan deal with Villarreal. It remains to be seen whether Spurs will have the same.
