Barcelona still yet to make progress over key contract issue – and it’s not Ousmane Dembélé

Barcelona still haven’t made progress over the contract of Sergi Roberto.

Roberto is out of contract this summer and headed for a free transfer having been at the club sine 2006.

It did look at one stage as though a new deal would be offered and signed, but all that was put on pause due to Barca‘s January transfer priorities.

It was bad timing for Roberto, who was ruled out for around three months after deciding to undergo thigh surgery.

The Spain international should return within the coming weeks, but there has still been no progress on his contract.

As detailed by Sport, Roberto has not been offered a new contract at this stage, and while Barcelona are not ruling one out, progress has been slow.

Roberto has not yet negotiated terms with another team, dispute being free to do so, or at least with clubs outside of Spain.

But the clock is ticking quickly ahead of this summer, when Roberto is risking being left out in the cold.
