Real Oviedo loanee goalkeeper Andriy Lunin admits he does not know what role he will have at Real Madrid next season.
Lunin had not played in La Liga on loan at Real Valladolid and he had not been able to displace the club’s number one goalkeeper Jordi Masip.
Furthermore, the Ukrainian – who joined Madrid from Zorya in a €7.5m deal in the summer of 2018 – only started four La Liga games last season at Leganes, where he could not displace Ivan Cuellar.
His loan deal at Valladolid was cancelled this month and instead the shot-stopper joined second tier side Real Oviedo, for whom he is now regularly playing.
When asked if Madrid had given him an indication on his role next season by Onda Cero, Lunin replied: “Not yet but we are speaking – I am in contact with the goalkeeping coach and the directors.
“It is my priority to play and continue to play and at Real Oviedo that is the case, so I am happy to be playing at this club.”
Lunin has yet to keep a clean sheet for Oviedo in his first five appearances for the club who are battling against relegation to the Segunda B.
