Celta Vigo: Santi Mina faces trial for alleged sexual assault

Celta Vigo forward Santi Mina will stand trial for an alleged sexual assault, it has been reported in the Spanish press.

El Mundo Deportivo reports that the judge has decided there is no evidence to proceed with the case against Mina and and former Nàstic player, David Goldar.

The case was opened in a court in Almeria in the summer of 2017 with the allegation of sexually assaulting a young woman in Mojacar.

The report states that the judge has concluded that there is sufficient evidence for both of them to go to trial, as judicial sources have confirmed.

The incident is said to have occurred in June 2017, when the young woman was in a caravan with Goldar, when Mina – who allegedly indecently exposed himself – attempted to have sexual relations with her, which were rejected and did not occur.

Mina and Goldar were arrested and a few hours later released and have allegedly said that the claims have been exaggerated.

Mina played for Valencia at the time of the alleged incident before returning to Celta this summer in the deal which took Maxi Gomez to the Mestalla.
