Real Madrid: James Rodriguez rejects Arsenal move

Real Madrid midfielder James Rodriguez has rejected the possibility of joining Premier League club Arsenal, report Marca.

It is believed that the Spanish giants are open to selling the playmaker next year while Arsenal are said to be on the lookout for a replacement for Mesut Ozil, who previously played at Santiago Bernabeu.

The Colombian international had been heavily linked with a permanent exit from Madrid this summer with both Napoli and Atletico Madrid said to be the leading candidates.

James returned to Madrid this summer following a two-year loan spell at the Bavarian club having started just 13 Bundesliga matches this campaign and is said to want more regular first-team football.

The former Porto and Monaco star spent three seasons at Los Blancos, helping them to two European titles, but started just 13 La Liga games in his final campaign.

He has not played a game since October 22 when he appeared for the final 12 minutes of the trip to Galatasaray in the Champions League and has had a succession of injuries since.
