Barcelona: US youth international Konrad de la Fuente to renew deal

Barcelona are in ‘advanced’ talks to renew the contract of forward Konrad de la Fuente – a youth international with United States.

A report in El Mundo Deportivo claims the 18-year-old is set to pen a new contract at the Catalan giants ahead of being promoted to the club’s B team for next season.

The teenager, who was born in Miami to parents from Haiti, is said to be highly thought of by the leaders in Barcelona’s youth academy, which is headed by Patrick Kluivert.

The US youth international – who impressed at the recent Under-20 World Cup – has netted five goals in 11 appearances for Barca this year, as outlined by ESPN.

De la Fuente is the only Blaugrana player to be included in a list of 50 of the world’s most promising talents this year, published by British media outlet The Guardian.

He will join fellow young talents Ilaix Moriba and Ansu Fati in extending their deals at the Camp Nou in recent times.
