Neymar happy at PSG – Marco Verratti

Neymar is happy at Paris Saint-Germain and wants to stay at the club despite links to Barcelona, according to teammate Marco Verratti.

The former Santos forward left the Camp Nou for Paris in the summer of 2017 for a world record €222m fee, but reports continue to suggest he may be open to a departure from the Parisians.

Neymar has continually been linked with a return to Spain since his departure with the Catalan giants and Madrid said to be keen on a future transfer.

However, despite a prolonged saga of multiple reports claiming that the clubs were in negotiations and a deal was on the verge of completion, no move ever materialised.

“Neymar is fine,” Verratti told Telefoot.

“He is certainly happier when he is on the pitch. However, he is working well. At one point, he wanted to leave. He had some difficult moments. In the end, he stayed and he is training better than ever. He really wants to return as soon as possible to help the team to go far.”

Neymar has been derailed in the French capital by injuries – he has been involved in just 42 of a possible 88 Ligue 1 matches since his switch in the summer of 2017.
