Ernesto Valverde and Frenkie De Jong caught up in Catalan protests at Barcelona airport

Barcelona manager Ernesto Valverde and midfielder Frenkie De Jong were caught in the disruption at Barcelona's El Prat airport following widespread protests in the city.

Protesters occupied the arrials area of the airport on October 14, leading to delays and chaos for thousands travelling in and out of Spain, including a number of famous faces.

Ivan Rakitic was pictured walking out of the airport, and making his own way into the city with transport routes blocked for hours either side of the protests

Ernesto Valverde was trapped in the airport for a number airport, however according to reports in Mundo Deportivo, he was taken out of the airport by a member of Barcelona security staff in disguise.

However De Jong remained in the airport, and missed a training session, with Valverde returning later to assist with helping get him out of the area.
