Ajax remove release clause of in-demand star Hakim Ziyech

Ajax have removed the €26m release clause of in-demand star Hakim Ziyech as they have tied him down to a new contract.

As outlined by a report in De Telegraaf, the Moroccan international will now have a market value in excess of €50m – which could potentially put off suitors.

A report in Diario AS last week claimed Real Madrid were scouting the player – along with his teammates Donny van de Beek and David Neres – during their 3-0 Champions League win at Valencia last week.

It is claimed that under sporting director Monchi, the Andalusian club monitored the player and considered paying €6m in the summer of 2015.

The following year, the Twente player joined Ajax in an €11m deal and he has since appeared in the Europa League final and last season, became a Champions League semi-finalist.

The forward-thinking player was once again being monitored by Monchi – who returned to Sevilla in April – over the summer months, according to a report in De Telegraaf.
