Real Madrid boost in Paul Pogba pursuit

Real Madrid may have been handed a boost in their pursuit of Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba, report OK Diario.

It is claimed by the Madrid-based outlet that the Frenchman’s agent, Mino Raiola, will demand an eye-watering £600k per week in any contract negotiations at United.

United rejected all approaches for the player this summer and are said to value Pogba at €165m (£150m) which Madrid were not be able to finance.

The French international’s contract at Old Trafford expires in June 2021 and with less than two years remaining, it is now entering a critical stage.

Pogba could leave for free that summer or his transfer valuation could be significantly reduced next summer if a new agreement has still not been reached.

Earlier this month, El Mundo Deportivo cited a report in the Evening standard that the central midfielder is next on United’s list following contract renewals for David De Gea and Victor Lindelof.

It could be that United decide to cash in on their star midfielder in order to generate reinvestment in other areas of their squad.
