Sergio Ramos: I have more seasons with Amazon than Real Madrid

Sergio Ramos has joked that he will have more seasons in Amazon than he will have with Real Madrid, renewing speculation on his future.

A new Amazon documentary is airing on the experienced central defender while he has previously been linked with a Los Blancos exit.

“As I said, I have more seasons with Amazon than with Madrid,” Ramos is cited as saying by El Espanol, as he laughed. “We'll see what happens.

“In my case, I have two more years of contract and I will try to win, as always.

“In the future we will see. Football is going so fast that deep down you do not have time to enjoy the good or to savour it. Above all it doesn't let you get drowned in defeat.

“So you have to enjoy every moment and you'll see what will happen tomorrow.”

The Spain international made 41 starts for the club last season but was among a number of underperforming players as Madrid endured a tough campaign.

Club president Florentino Perez confirmed reports this summer that the 33-year-old had requested to the club to be allowed to move to China on a free transfer.

However, the player went on to deny this in a press conference while no move away from the Spanish capital ever materialised.

The Spain captain has scored 84 goals for Madrid in 609 appearances across 14 years following a move from Sevilla and has won 167 caps for his nation.

Ramos has won 20 trophies at the club, including three La Liga titles and four Champions League crowns.
